Terms of service

Last updated: 27 August 2026

These terms set out the agreement between MapAlert and the business taking a package: what you get, what it costs, what you may do with it, and what we do and do not promise. They are deliberately short and in plain language.

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply to your use of this website and to any package you take from MapAlert. We supply businesses and organisations only, not consumers. Different arrangements apply only where we have agreed them with you in writing, and in that case they take precedence over these terms.

2. The service

MapAlert identifies newly opened businesses within a package and an area, and delivers them to you as a weekly overview together with continuous access to the online portal. What each package covers is set out on the package pages. We supply information; we do not approach businesses on your behalf and we do not act as an intermediary.

3. Subscription, price and invoicing

Packages cover the whole of the Netherlands and cost €299 per month for Hospitality and €199 per month for Beauty, Health and Speciality retail. All amounts are exclusive of VAT. There is no setup fee. A subscription begins when we confirm your order, runs by the month and is invoiced monthly. We will give at least one month’s notice of any price change, which then takes effect from the following month.

4. Term and cancellation

There is no minimum term. A subscription continues monthly until you cancel. You can cancel by emailing info@mapalert.me; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month, and the month already invoiced is not refunded pro rata. We may cancel on one month’s notice, or immediately where these terms are seriously breached.

5. Access to the portal

Access is by a signed personal link rather than an account with a password. Treat that link as confidential: anyone holding it can see your subscription’s data. If you think it has leaked, tell us and we will revoke it and issue a new one. We may revoke a link that turns out to be circulating outside your organisation.

6. What you may do with the data

Within your own organisation you may use and share the overviews freely: read them, keep them, load them into your own systems, and use them to approach businesses. If you want to pass the businesses on to your own clients as a matter of course, resell them or publish them — as a lead agency or a trade association would — please get in touch so we can agree terms that fit what you are doing. We rarely say no, but it belongs in the agreement rather than happening quietly.

7. What we do not promise

We aim for a list without false entries, and accept that this makes it less than exhaustive. So we do not guarantee that every new business in your area is found, nor any minimum number per week: how many businesses open varies by season and by trade. A listing is also a snapshot from public sources and not a guarantee that a business is trading, or will continue to. Check a business yourself before incurring cost on it.

8. No connection with the businesses listed

MapAlert is independent of the businesses that appear in an overview. We do not represent them, we are not endorsed by them, and nothing in an overview is supplied or approved by them. If you approach a business on the strength of our information, you are responsible for how you do so and for the rules that apply to it, including those on unsolicited communication.

9. Intellectual property

The overviews, reports, the portal and this website remain the property of MapAlert. You receive the right to use the information delivered within your organisation as described in clause 6. Automated extraction, copying or onward supply of the portal or the reports is not included in that right.

10. Liability

MapAlert supplies information on which you make your own decisions. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event. We are not liable for lost profit, missed business or consequential loss. These limits do not apply in the case of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.

11. Availability

We do our best to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability: maintenance, faults and disruption at external sources or suppliers do occur. A temporary interruption does not give rise to a refund, unless the service is genuinely undelivered for a prolonged period, in which case we will put it right reasonably.

12. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. We will give at least one month’s notice of any change that matters to you; if you do not accept it, you may cancel with effect from that date. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. Let us try to resolve it between us first: email info@mapalert.me.
