FAQ

Questions, answered.

What MapAlert reports, what it costs, and how it reaches you.

What is MapAlert?
MapAlert monitors Google Maps across the whole of the Netherlands and reports the businesses that newly appear on it. You pick the package for the trade you sell into, and every week you get a list of the ones that have just opened.
What exactly do I get each week?
One list, with every business on it named: address, town, phone number and website where the business has one, plus the category it trades under. It is ready to hand to whoever acts on it, without anyone having to look anything up first.
Which packages are there?
Four. Hospitality covers restaurants, cafes and bars, snack bars, takeaway and lunchrooms. Beauty covers hair, beauty and nail salons, massage practices and pedicures. Health covers dentists, physiotherapy, GP practices, opticians and pharmacies. Local retail covers bakeries, florists, butchers, fishmongers, cheese and ice cream. More are on the way, including home services.
Can I buy just my own province or region?
No. Every package covers the whole of the Netherlands and is sold that way. What you can do is narrow what you look at: the portal filters by province, town and category, so a distributor working two provinces sees two provinces. The package stays national; the view is yours.
What does it cost?
Hospitality is 299 euro a month. Beauty, health and local retail are 199 euro a month each. All prices are excluding VAT and billed monthly. There is no setup fee.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
No. It is month to month, and you can stop at the end of any month. Nothing to sign and no notice period to work through.
How does it reach me?
By email, once a week, on the same day. Behind it sits a portal with everything we have reported for your package, so you can look back over previous weeks and filter by province, town or category. You can forward either to a colleague.
Do I need to install or connect anything?
No. Nothing is installed, nothing connects to your systems, and there is nothing to maintain at your end. If you can read an email you can use it.
Where does the information come from?
Public sources only. We do not access anything private, nothing is installed on anyone systems, and nobody has to be asked, surveyed or chased for the information to arrive.
How new are the businesses you report?
Recently opened, and reported in the week they appear rather than months later once they turn up in a trade directory. Everything on the list is checked before it reaches you, and anything we cannot stand behind does not go on it.
How many new businesses can I expect a week?
It varies by package and by season: hospitality moves fastest in spring, ice cream shops open in a cluster and then stop. Rather than quote an average that would be wrong most weeks, tell us which package you are interested in and we will show you what recent weeks actually looked like.
Can I see a sample first?
Yes. Tell us which package and we will send you a recent week so you can judge it on real businesses rather than on a description of them.
Is this legal?
Yes. Everything we report comes from public sources and is information any customer of that business could look up themselves. We collect nothing private and we contact nobody on your behalf.
Can I share it with my team, or pass leads on to clients?
Sharing inside your own company is fine. If you want to pass the businesses on to clients, as a lead agency or a trade body would, get in touch and we will sort out terms that fit what you are doing.
Which countries do you cover?
The Netherlands, in full. Other countries are possible and we are happy to talk about them, but nothing else is running today.
How do I get in touch?
Email info@mapalert.me and we will come back to you.
